"DHAKA: Bangladesh has arrested more than 900 fishermen and deployed the army to patrol its waterways after introducing a temporary ban on catching hilsa in an effort to save the hugely popular fish."
"Armed forces have been deployed to patrol 7,000 square kilometres of rivers,
estuaries and sea declared a breeding sanctuary."
"when World Bank pulled out of the $3 billion Padma Bridge project,
the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh expected India to cash in on the opportunity."
Great to have some additional infrastructure set up to hopefully foster the conditions to nurture the healthy life cycle of "hilsa" Though at what cost really ::; Criminalizing the fisherman: Sure! The numbers are depleted/ the regulations were really lacking for a while there//could have been addressed long before (in a completely different way.) This is about something a little bit more than it reads, ya know ? Check out what's really going with the ocean, and who is trying to own what. ( #whutthefuq2016 )
