From a piece written by Shaun King.  "Not that I don’t care about what happens to men and women from other ethnic groups, but what the people in my own community are facing is often so overwhelming, so all-consuming, that it takes every ounce of energy and focus I have to be anywhere near effective inside of my own circle of comfort.

"So, when American police are regularly training with Israeli police, it makes perfect sense that what Palestinians experience would end up feeling eerily similar to what black folk in America experience as well. With the United States just pledging a record $38 billion in aid to Israel, it is almost nonsensical for Americans to put our heads completely in the sand about what such aid means. How is it that our people are poisoned by lead in the water and school districts are laying off teachers, but we have a way to find $38,000,000,000 in aid for a country with next to no public scrutiny or debate? It’s wild and the greater point is this — we are all much more deeply interconnected whether we actually care to admit it or not."

My brain is turning into a moth that may just end up flying out my ear one day.

People have the right to live in a world where a heavily armed military is NOT trying to control their present, their future, their land, resources, healthcare, bodies. These are not complicated ideas. Lets turn the very valid anger at the injustices of the world into something so constructive that people's vibrations are raised and healing can truly take place.
